All the actions of the organization are based on the principles of non-formal education. Our projects aim to support the development of active citizens, capable of sense of responsibility, criticism and solidarity.
About Compagnons Bâtisseurs:
The organisation Compagnons Bâtisseurs, aka CBB, is a non-profit organization recognized and financially supported as Youth Organization by the Brussels-Wallonia Federation since 1978. It is member of the ALLIANCE of European Voluntary Service Organizations since 1997. In Belgium, CBB is member of the federation of the pluralist and independent youth organizations. Very recently, CBB also became member of the CCIVS.

world/activities/long-term/ esc-volunteering/maison-des- jeunes-ciney/ La Maison des Jeunes, aka MJ Ciney, gives youngsters from 12 to 26 opportunities to engage in social, cultural and artistic activities. They encourage youngsters to become responsible citizens and to actively participate in society.
Your main role as a volunteer will be to assist the non-profit association La Maison des Jeunes de Ciney (Youth House of Ciney). Together with the team, the volunteer will have the chance to put themself in the shoes of a youth worker and supervise young people.
Social work at Foyer L’Aubépine – Ciney

world/activities/long-term/ esc-volunteering/laubepine-a- ciney/ The non-profit organization “Foyer Aubépine” aims to provide social help, education, host and support for youngsters with difficult socio-economical and familial backgrounds.
The volunteers will mostly work with kids and teenagers from 3 to 18 years helping to support the technical team (maintenance of the house; preparation of meals; cleaning of living spaces), support the social educators (spend time with kids and teenagers during meals and snacks; welcome kids and teenagers after school days: help them with homework, prepare exciting activities and games for leisure time, help for preparation for bedtime, participation in outside activities, maintenance of the vegetable garden and the chicken coop). Also, the volunteer will help to develop the project of living space in the caravan; help in the maintenance of the yurt and implement a personal activity in the last stage of the project.
Supporting people with disability at L’Essentiel – Lasne

Kindergarden and Primary school at Ecole des Petits Chemins – Rochefort

world/activities/long-term/ esc-volunteering/ecole-des- petits-chemins/ The « Collectif des Petits Chemins » is a non-profit association and school based in Lessive, a village located in the French community of Belgium. Its aim is to promote the new pedagogies made according to the kids’ personalities and using the natural environment.
In this project, the volunteer will work either in the kindergarten (with little kids from 2 years and a half until 5 years old), either in the primary school (with kids from 6 to 12 years old) with several tasks: supporting the kindergarten teacher and taking care of the kids, welcoming kids in the morning at the school, participating in different artistic workshops (e.g. painting, drawing, weaving, story-telling, singing, modelling clay,…); giving company to the kids during the breaks and offer them help to eat the snack, to get their shoes and coats on etc..; participating in outside activities (visit at the farm, walk in the forest, free time activities, maintenance of the building,…) when the volunteer feels able to, implementing a personal activity with the kids.
