Last year, I began to seriously consider that my way of working had become somewhat old-fashioned. I felt that I was spending too much time creating lengthy reports, posters, and emails. Although I recognized the potential of AI tools as helpful assistants, I was not particularly enthusiastic about technology, which made it difficult to motivate myself to explore AI on my own. Eventually, I decided to look into training courses on SALTO.
And I found something ideal! Erasmus+ training course Mastering AI in Non-Formal Education, which was going to take place in Paphos, Cyprus. What else can you wish for?
Main objectives of the training course were:
1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence, including its main types, its relevance and potential in the youth field;
2. Help the participants apply at least five digital tools effectively incorporating them into youth work activities that promote implication on the youth side, creativity and collaboration;
3. Help the participants build confidence and a proactive mindset toward digital innovation.
Twenty representatives from five countries spent seven active and intensive days together. During this time, we first had the opportunity to get to know one another, then explore various AI tools and reflect on how they could be integrated into our daily work. Finally, we worked in groups to prepare presentations on different topics, applying the knowledge and skills we had just acquired.
We also had the opportunity to hold some of the sessions outdoors, surrounded by the beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea.
During the breaks and after the sessions, we had plenty of time to get to know each other better, swim in the sea, and even enjoy a night out at a club.
During those nine days in Cyprus, I had the opportunity to learn about and start using several AI tools that will definitely help me make my work more efficient and up to date.
Moreover, I met a group of inspiring and enthusiastic people from different cultural and professional backgrounds, all connected by a shared interest in the same subject. Thank you, Erasmus+!
