Feel free to read about Weronika’s 10-month project below, as part of the European Solidarity Corps Programme.
“As I write this testimony, I am already in a place that I used to identify as home, the only
home I had, but now that I think about my volunteering adventure, I can openly say that I
also have a second home, where I experienced wonderful but also incredibly difficult
moments in my life, where I met amazing people and created bonds for years, where I was
able to be myself and rediscover myself every day – Lisbon, my second home.
I am incredibly grateful to myself from a year ago that I decided to take such a brave step in my life as moving out and wanting to help the local community and face a new unknown life as a volunteer. It was a decision I made quite suddenly and I didn’t really know what I was doing.
I now know that it was one of the best decisions of my life. I have learnt amazing things,
developed myself and my passions, I never thought I would be able to build a solar oven! I
have already built two of my own projects and surfed for the first time in my life! Can you imagine!
I think anyone who has the opportunity to take part in this amazing voluntary service with the European Solidarity Corps should definitely take part.”
Thank you, Weronika, for volunteering with us and for all your dedication throughout the project!
